Final Four

Full Court Press

As part of a partnership with the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism helps organize the annual "Full Court Press" seminar for collegiate sports writers at the Final Four.

The year's 12th anniversary event was conducted March 29, with a panel discussion featuring nationally known and respected sports journalists covering the Final Four. In addition, college and high school students who participate have the chance to compete for a $1,000 scholarship.

Questions about the seminar may be directed to Malcolm Moran, the Knight Chair in Sports Journalism and society and director of the Curley Center.

Final Four Focus

Final Four 2012An integral part of the Curley Center's presence at the Final Four comes in the opportunity for students to cover the event, with their stories published on the NCAA's website as well as on an Curley Center site.

In 2012, two Penn State students again provided that exclusive coverage. The work of Audrey Snyder and Casey Kelley may be found at  http://blogs.comm.psu.edu/final four online.

Penn State Perspectives
As a national news story plays out on campus, student journalists, faculty experts and alumni who are members of the media have helped tell the story and share their opinions. Samples of their work may be found here.
