FOR STUDENTS -- Apply Now -- Applications are now being accepted for the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with a deadline date of Nov. 20, 2009. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to submit the application as soon as possible. All majors are welcome to apply. Students who have not completed the prerequisite courses of COMM 160 or COMM 260W are welcome to apply and may be accepted into the program on a contingency basis. Students will not be permitted to take the sports journalism courses until the successful completion of COMM 160 and 260W. To apply, review the materials and submit the application including the cover page and materials needed under application instructions. If you have questions about the application, email Jamey Perry.

- To complete the program, students must earn a minimum of six credits from COMM 476, 477 and/or 478 and complete an on-campus sports media activity (Daily Collegian, ComRado, WKPS-FM "The Lion", Intercollegiate Athletics, etc.) and/or on- or off-campus internships in sports media.

Sports Journalism Board
Board members for the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
Representatives from private industry, professional sports, college athletics and print and broadcast journalism comprise the advisory board for the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism at Penn State.
Through the board, the Center plans to tap important resources in order to gauge and respond to trends in the industry. Prime beneficiaries of the board include students, faculty and administrators in the College of Communications. Board members include alumni and friends of Penn State and the College, as well as others who support the goals and principles of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
