Film-Video Major

In the film-video major students develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of the film and video processes, including studio and on-location production. Students incorporate idea development, writing, production craft (cinematography, sound, editing) and production management into all creative projects.

Narrative, documentary and experimental forms are explored in a program of study that supports critical thinking and the development of ideas. Emphasis is on discovering the ability to make creative, aesthetic and content decisions while developing a sense of personal style.

During the sophomore entrance-to-major process students must submit a portfolio to secure entrance in the major.

Faculty members in the film-video major are working professionals who emphasize critical thinking and development of ideas while offering students in-depth study of writing and production. They guide personal expression while providing a thorough understanding of the production process.
