Fan Yang received both of her B.A. in journalism and M.A. in communication in China. Her research interest centers on decision making in the context of new media and social media. Specifically, she is fascinated by exploring “irrational” decision making as a result of technology- and content-related cues on new media and how to make the best use of “irrational” decision making to promote social goods and individual well being.
She has been a teaching assistant for COMM 381 Telecommunication Regulation and COMM 387 Telecommunication Management. Her independent teaching experience includes COMM 1020 Public Speaking and COMM 420 Research Methods in Advertising and Public Relations.
Last summer she drove across the United States from Pennsylvania to California with her husband and parents.
