Ruoxu Wang is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the College of Communications at Penn State University. She received her B.A. and M.S. in mass communication from North Dakota State University (NDSU). Her primary research interests lie in the intersection of media effects and persuasion under the context of strategic communication and communication technology.
Her scholarly works have been published in Computers in Human Behavior, Telematics and Informatics, Social Media and Society, Mass Communication and Society and American Behavioral Scientist. She has presented her research at the annual meetings of the International Communication Association (ICA), the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), and the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC).
Wang is also interested in UX/UI design. She worked as a UX research intern at Samsung Research America in Summer 2014. She also worked as a web developer and graphic designer at the Instructional Services at NDSU for more than two years. In addition, she has been serving as a Webmaster for the Mass Communication and Society division at AEJMC since 2013.
